A piece of functional sculpture for your next dinner party!
This beautiful hand thrown and altered porcelain serving dish is part of a collection that I designed and created called Whirls. It was made from one hand thrown vessel and altered to enhance its functionality as well as to create a beautiful, visually interesting piece. I make each Whirl myself, completely by hand in my New York studio.
It’s got a glossy clear finish with the white of the clay showing through. Measures approximately 11.5"W x 2.5"H. The cupped portion is completely sealed, so it’s great for dip, hummus or salsa and holds about 1/2 cup. Use it, then display it as an art piece. Food and dishwasher safe, though hand-washing is best.

Each Whirl is made one at a time, completely by hand so each one is a unique, heirloom quality piece. The Whirl pictured is the Whirl that you will receive. The image of the Whirl with food is a sample which is used to illustrate it’s function.
