I have been persuaded by a classic sensibility lately. Still lives are a practice and beautiful art form that call to our attention the beauty of what is around us through intense observation. With these sculptures, I am capturing the essence of the object in Porcelain. By removing the color, the focus may be placed entirely upon the purity of the form and surface.
This series began with pears and is now expanding to include some of the inspiration behind my tiles. This is the Durian Fruit,(on the right) seen here with Noni, another sculpture in this series.
