Bold colors and allusion to vintage art and style are the foundations of Alisha Louise Designs. Alisha’s love of travel has also had a lasting impact on her work. Throughout Europe, Latin America and the USA she was exposed to amazing natural landscapes as well as innovative local design work. Meeting jewelry designers from Iceland, Italy and Mexico inspired her color palette and unique handcraftsmanship, resulting in a subtly feminine and decidedly modern style.
Alisha began working with metal and enamel in 2000 at Seattle’s Pratt Fine Arts Center. Soon after, she began assisting local jewelers and honing her skills on production work while working towards her goal of debuting her own line. Alishalouise.com was launched in August 2005 and her pieces have been featured in Bust Magazine, Teen Vogue, Daily Candy and Lucky Magazine.
My jewelry is made in the ancient tradition of vitreous enameling, firing high quality powdered glass to copper. Each custom copper shape is fired at 1400 degrees at least twice, though more often a piece is fired 4-6 times to achieve a smooth, lustrous color. Every piece is handmade in the USA.
