Das Monk is a boutique Australian t-shirt label, which was launched in 2007 by Sydneysider Marc Hendrick. The label draws upon various inspirations from the worlds of art, music, film and pop culture – everything from René Magritte to David Lynch to PAM and The Pixies.

The distinctness of Das Monk’s prints stem from the contrast of the everyday with the exotic, the outlandish, the sinister, and the irreverent. It is this fascination with the bizarre and unexpected that attracts new followers around the globe with every collection. This summer alone, Das Monk’s tees were hanging from the torsos of the music industry’s hippest, including MGMT, TV on the Radio, Lupe Fiasco, A-Trak and Justice.

Das Monk is now stocked in over 20 leading fashion stores throughout Australia, USA, Canada and New Zealand. It has also recently joined the Grand Social hub of online fashion stores, alongside Australian favourites Chronicles of Never, myPetsQuare, Nathan Smith, Matt Weston and E L L E R Y, cementing Das Monk’s reputation as one of the most exciting labels in the country.

2009 sees Das Monk continue to evolve as a creative and innovative force by collaborating with international artists Zach Johnsen (US), Tim Laing (UK), Evan Meister (US), and Keenan Marshall Keller (US) for its latest collection.
