Plato called the study of number symbolism “the highest level of knowledge” and Pythagoras believed numbers had souls, as well as magical powers.
Most of us have some kind of favourite number. It is usually our birth date or the date of some special occasion in our life. Some people claim that a particular number tend to show up all over the place throughout years of their life. Naturally such number will be of great importance to those people.

1. Shattered clock – order in chaos
The clock was designed by Igor Barbashin and Daria Volokhova. The whole clock works on thirty- one clock mechanisms. Our eyebrow will rise as we suspiciously try to decipher what the time is. Shattered clock features numbers that have been broken apart and reformed. According to the designers, the clock represents order and chaos. But when we look at the clock the only thing we see is the chaos, and where is this order? 2. Mixed-numbers clock
Mixed-numbers wall clock was cleverly designed by J.P. Meulendijks by arranging and joining together many numbers to form a traditional round clock. It looks so differently from an ordinary wall clock. A mix of numbers seems, in fact, to be more confusing than help us discover the correct hour. It comes usually in a black finish but there are also other variants of color available like silver, white or red. We can give our plain wicker baskets new life with the addition of a single large number. With a few simple steps you can receive quite nice decorative effect:
- Use a premade stencil or prepare your own – print off numbers on the computer and cut out their center.
- Tape number to the basket and spray it with a spray paint.
- Remove paper.
